This sounds like the lifestyle a person has when they’re not socially active and aren’t in any kind of relationship at all. For them, the whole process would seem very exhausting and waste of the little time they have for themselves. That makes it a sadder life to lead.

There are certain jobs that require all your time and full attention, leaving less time to spend for yourself, and as the months go by, you’ll start to feel like you’re dead inside because you’ve got no time to properly take care of yourself. It’s at this point you’ll have to decide whether you want to continue living like a zombie or have the option of quitting and looking for something a little less stressful; you might end up unemployed for an indefinite amount of time, but at least you’ll be able to utilize this time to make up for the last year or so.
